Avast
Avast is super popular, and that mostly comes from its great features and unique visuals. The app is focused on value and quality more than anything else, and it always pushes the boundaries quite a bit. It does take a bit of time to get used to it, but for the most part the value can indeed shine and that’s the most important aspect to consider for sure.
Interface
Avast is known for the fact that it has some of the simplest interfaces out there. They did a very good job when it comes to offering high quality features and benefits. It’s never easy to find a good and reliable antivirus, but Avast is quite good at what it does. The interface is intuitive and you always find the features you want right in front of you.
Features
We like the fact that they added a gaming/silent mode. Even if there are any virus issues you encounter, they won’t disturb you that much, and in the end that’s a crucial aspect to keep in mind. What you will have to keep in mind about the Avast review is that it’s created with quality in mind and you are always in control no matter the situation.
The malware tests we performed show that Avast is pretty good, as it will identify 97% of the threats. They update the app constantly, so you always get a good value from them. The problem is that they are always pushing the boundaries with new challenges and that’s definitely going to be a problem right off the bat. What you have to focus on right away is the attention to detail and quality, and that’s an important aspect to consider.
The phishing and spam filters, personal firewalls, password management and even parental control are features that you can rarely find in a free antivirus. The paid versions also have other cool features, however VPN and password management are offered as separate services, which might seem a bit strange at first, so try to keep that in mind if possible.
There are some issues with Malwarebytes that make it hard to use both tools at the same time, so that’s extremely important to keep in mind. But for the most part you really get an amazing value for your money. And the best part is that the quarantine and virus removal features work extremely well, exactly the way you want and without any restrictions to begin with.
Is it worth it?
It’s always a good idea to use the free version of Avast so you can gest accustomed to it. The app is definitely helpful and it has lots of cool and handy features. Only time will tell if it suits your needs. But they do have some great features, the app is not bringing any major resource consumption and so on. However, there are some incompatibility problems and quirks that make it a bit hard to use. If you get past that the results will be amazing!
